The Zombies: Odessey and Oracle (1968)

This album is way too good to be as unknown as it is. The only thing most people know from this album is Time of the Season. But this album is flawless from beginning to end. Each song is filled with innocent pining and lush romantic sounds. For some really lame reason the Zombies decided to call it quits BEFORE making this album. After listing to this that will really piss you off. This album has some of the most amazing well written vocal harmonies to ever be recorded and the songs, although extremely pop influenced, fall in a strange world of jazzy-psych-baroque-pop. Colin Blunstone's voice comes from such a divine place that the rest of this planet may never know. This has for a long time been my "favorite" album, although I realize that ranking is stupid and pointless, I feel the need to crown this album. Still completely shunned and unnoticed, this album will definitely be one of your favorites before completing a single listen. Absolutely breathtaking.
