I cannot possibly say enough for Margo Guryan. She is the female Brain Wilson. She started off as a jazz musician who never even entertained the idea of making a pop album until hearing "God Only Knows" off of Pet Sounds. She wrote everything on this album and these songs are more sophisticated than most male efforts from the time. This album is so catchy it might annoy you, but only because of jealousy of this girl's immeasurable talent. The songs are jazzy, at times really psychedelic, and just plain beautiful. Sadly Margo got absolutely no attention because she refused to tour (good for her!). With an album this impressive though, touring seems irrelevant. You will fall in love with her the minute you put this on, just some way cool, way groovy music.
