Donovan: A Gift From a Flower to a Garden (1968)

Here is yet another classic from the master himself. This album was the first box set in pop music. The first record entitled "Wear Your Love Like Heaven" consists of some awesome psych-folk with lots of cool effects. The second record, "For the Little Ones" is Donovan's first children's album. The songs are pretty simplistic, but display Donovan's amazing guitar playing skills. If you can get this album on vinyl, get it! It is so cool. It comes with a full coloring book with a picture for each song. The back of the album has a picture of Donovan with the Mahrishi. The picture on the front is by the classic psychedelic photographer Karl Farris. On this inside sleeve Donovan actually advises all of his fans to give up drug use. This was due to the fact that too many people were over indulging in the more deadly substances, speed and heroin. He lost many of his friends over the previous year and decided to turn towards meditation. Although I'm sure he wasn't talking about the psych friendly drugs that don't harm us at all.
