Donovan: Mellow Yellow (1967)

No one has ever blended jazz and pop as effectively as Donovan. This album is not as psychedelic as "Sunshine Superman" but takes us further into Donovan's vision. This album is really jazzy in such a psychedelic way. "Sunny South Kensington" is by far the most "groovy" song ever. One interesting note: Sand and Foam is about going to Mexico late one night to pick up some meth. Listen to the lyrics if you don't believe me. When I saw Donovan in concert, he said they were going up the river eating mushrooms and smoking with the natives. He said he was seeing colors and wrote "Wear Your Love Like Heaven."
